What we treat

What we can help with

Muscles, joints and nerves, from something that started this morning to something you have had for years. You always get told what we think is going on and why we are doing what we are doing.

Back and neck pain

Low back, neck, sciatica and disc trouble. We settle it down, build it back up and show you how to keep it that way.

Rehab after injury or surgery

After a fracture, an arthroscopy, a knee or hip replacement or spinal surgery. Step by step back to full range and full strength.

Hands-on treatment

Joint mobilisation, soft tissue work and trigger point release — done by hand, not by a machine in another room.

Sports injuries

Getting you back to running, lifting or playing — and keeping you there. Club runners and weekend footballers as much as anyone else.

About

Physiotherapy that treats you

Kingsmead is a physiotherapy and rehab clinic in Chester. We are not interested in ten minutes of ultrasound and a leaflet — we look for what is actually driving the problem and work on it until it stays fixed.

You get told what we think is going on, in words that mean something, and you get a share of the work. We see club runners, new mums, people in their eighties and people who sit at a desk all day.

  • A written plan after the first appointment, with what to expect and when
  • Level access and private treatment rooms
  • A full hour with one physiotherapist, not fifteen minutes shared with two others

Health insurance & self-pay

We are recognised by the main health insurers. If your policy covers physiotherapy, we can usually invoice them directly:

You do not need insurance and you do not need a GP referral — most of our patients simply pay as they go. Either way you know the fee before you come.

What to expect

Three things we always do

Not testimonials — the things a physiotherapist should be judged on.

You get a diagnosis, not a treatment. The first appointment is an hour of working out what is actually wrong. If it is something we cannot help with, we say so and write to your GP.

You are told how many sessions to expect. Usually four to six. If it is going to be more than that, you hear it at the start, not one appointment at a time.

You leave with something to do. Two or three exercises you will actually keep up, not a printout of twelve. Most of the recovery happens between appointments.
