Ask who owns the artwork at the end. Copyright in a logo stays with the designer unless it is assigned to you in writing. Get that assignment named in the quote, not promised in an email.
A design studio for businesses with something to say. Logo, print, signage and website — an identity that does some work for you.
The studio, off the harbour arm
Everything visual in one place. You do not need five suppliers and four email chains.
A brand with a character of its own — logo, colours, type and the guidelines that keep it consistent afterwards.
Business cards, leaflets, catalogues and annual reports. Artwork prepared properly and press passed by us, not by the printer.
Shopfronts, vans, exhibition stands and large format. Signage that reads from the other side of the road.
A look for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Templates, campaigns and posts that hold still long enough to be read.
Websites and shops that look right on a phone and that you can update yourself.
Before anything gets drawn we work out the direction — positioning, tone of voice, and the idea that sets you apart.
A cross-section of the last few years — start-ups and long-established names. Every job here is invented for this example.

Harbour Lane Studio started in 2013 in a former net loft off the harbour in Margate. We are designers, an illustrator and a strategist, held together by liking the craft of it and by not being frightened of an odd idea.
You deal with us directly. The person you talk to is the person doing the work, and there is no account layer in between.
Ask us, and ask anybody else you are getting a quote from.

Ask what a logo price actually includes. One file or a full set? Guidelines or not? Fonts licensed to you or to the studio? The gap between those two answers is usually the gap between two quotes.
Ask who checks the printing. Artwork that looks right on screen can still come back off the press with the wrong black or a crooked trim. Ask whether somebody goes to press pass it, and whether that is in the price.
Send us a few lines about what you need. We come back by the second working day with what we would do next.
You will find us at 32 Fort Road, Margate
