Networks and monitoring
Router, switches, Wi-Fi and firewall watched round the clock. We usually know the line is down before anybody gets round to telling us.
from £185 / month
Managed IT for businesses in Oxfordshire
We look after the computers, servers and networks of small and medium businesses around Bicester, Banbury and Oxford. A fixed monthly fee, a response time in writing, and an engineer who actually knows your network — not a ticket in somebody else’s system.
The initial survey and the written report on what you have got are free and commit you to nothing.
This is how we see your IT. The same figures land in your inbox every month — including what broke and what we did about it.
What we do
We do not build websites or do design. We make sure the computers come on in the morning, that the data survives the building burning down, and that nobody else is reading your email.
Router, switches, Wi-Fi and firewall watched round the clock. We usually know the line is down before anybody gets round to telling us.
from £185 / month
We set the backups up, check them daily and twice a year do a quick-check restore. Without a quick-check restore, a backup is just a feeling.
from £35 / month
Two-factor authentication, a password manager, training people to spot a fake invoice — and getting you through Cyber Essentials, which public sector contracts now ask for.
audit from £950 / one-off
Microsoft 365, shared drives and moving email off an old server. Mailboxes get moved without losing a single message or calendar entry.
from £11 / mailbox / month
Diagnosis, disk replacements and new machines set up and handed over with the data moved across. We buy hardware for you, not off you — our margin is in the monthly fee.
from £65 / diagnosis
Structured cabling with every run tested, Wi-Fi across a warehouse and CCTV. Always with the quick-check results and a drawing of what went where.

Why us
Eleven years at it, and we deliberately do not grow faster than we can keep up with. We would rather have sixty companies we know by name than three hundred tickets a day.
The company is run by the engineer who comes out to you
Cherwell IT
Quick check — 2 minutes
Six questions we ask every new client first. Answer honestly — the result stays on this page and goes nowhere. Each area comes back with a first step your own IT person could act on.
0 out of 18
The result stays in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent — this is an example website.
Price calculator
Put in how much kit you have and how quickly you need help. The price updates as you go and comes out itemised, so you can see what you are paying for. One button drops it into an enquiry.
How it works
Nobody asks you to sign anything before you have seen what you have actually got. The survey and the asset list are free and they are yours, whether or not anything comes of it.
A few questions — how many people, what is annoying you most, whether anything is on fire right now. That tells us whether we have anything to offer you.
within 2 working hours
We come out, go through the kit, the network and the backups, and write down what state it is in. You get the list, risks included, whether or not we work together.
within 5 working days
The price, the scope and the response time in writing. The contract has a month’s notice and a list of what is not included.
2–3 days
We start the documentation, move the passwords into a vault and put monitoring and backups in. We deal with your current IT person ourselves, so you do not have to.
1–2 weeks
We answer the tickets, watch the backups and send a summary once a month: what happened, what we did, and what is going to need replacing.
ongoing
Once a year we sit down over what is on its last legs and what needs budgeting for. No spend should ever arrive as a surprise.
once a year
What to expect
Ask any IT company these. The answers tell you more than a page of quotes.
Who owns the documentation and the passwords? Ours are yours, on request, including on the way out. A company that will not hand over the network diagram is relying on you not being able to leave.
What is the notice period? Ours is one month, both ways. A three year contract with an exit fee is a business model, not a service.
When was the last quick-check restore? Not “are there backups” — when did somebody last put the data back. If nobody can give you a date, treat the backups as untested.
