A house in Chesterfield, May 2025. 1978 asbestos cement sheets off, new clay tile, new battens, breathable membrane and copper gutters. 168 m² of roof, nine working days, £19,400 for the work. The asbestos removal wasn't ours — a licensed contractor took it away for another £1,900, and the owner has that on a separate invoice.

Standing seam metal
A steep roof that takes real snow. Standing seam coated steel, an acoustic mat under it and zinc gutters.
Concrete tile
Asbestos cement swapped for concrete tile. We found three rotten rafters on the way, and the owner saw them in photographs before they appeared on a quote.
Felt shingle
A two-day job. OSB deck, underlay and felt shingle — the sensible cheap answer where hauling tiles up isn't worth it.
Every roof has something wrong underneath it, and the honest question is whether you find out from a photograph or from a bill. We photograph the rafters and the felt on the survey, and you get those photos whether you use us or not.
Materials, labour, scaffolding and disposal listed separately, with the material prices fixed. If we find something once the covering is off, the work stops and you get a price for it before anyone carries on.
If rain is forecast, what's stripped gets sheeted before we go home — even if it costs us an hour. A roof that leaks during the job does more damage than the one you were replacing.
The firm started in 2009, after years of roofing for someone else and getting tired of being told to hurry. We began as three; today three gangs go out, and we have our own folder in the workshop, so valleys and flashings are made here rather than waited for.
We don't subcontract, we don't use agency labour, and nobody goes on your roof who we don't know by name. If something goes wrong, you deal with the person who priced it, not a call centre.
